Worde is a dictionary that works entirely on your iPhone.

In the app

Worde does not have accounts, advertising or analytics. The dictionary, pronunciations and quotations are part of the app, so looking up a word sends nothing over the internet.

What you do in Worde stays on your device: your recent searches, saved words, notes, themes and learning progress. Worde does not send this information to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes it.

If you turn on the daily word reminder, Worde schedules a notification on your device. You can turn reminders off in Worde or in the Settings app.

On this website

This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which receives your device’s IP address when it serves them. A choice of light or dark appearance is remembered in your browser and never leaves it.

If you join the waitlist, the email address you enter is sent to the service that keeps the list, and used only to tell you when Worde is available.
